Guangtai Medical Partners with Tanzania to Boost Healthcare in Africa

On August 13, 2024, during the 60th anniversary of China-Tanzania diplomatic relations, Guangtai Medical signed a procurement agreement with Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. at the China-Tanzania Business Cooperation Exchange in Dar es Salaam. The event, held at the East Africa Trade and Logistics Center, was attended by Tanzanian Minister of Planning and Investment Katila Alexander Mkumbo, Weihai Municipal Committee Secretary Yan Jianbo, and senior representatives from both governments. Li Hui, Executive Director and General Manager of Guangtai Medical, participated in the ceremony. 

Under China's "Belt and Road" initiative, Guangtai Medical will deploy smart portable medical devices and simplified digital health systems in Tanzania to strengthen local tiered diagnosis and telemedicine capabilities.  

The partnership will be supported by the East Africa Trade and Logistics Center, a hub for China-Africa economic collaboration.
